Zero votes have been polled in nine areas of the South Kashmir’s Kulgam district amid a high security presence near the polling booths on Monday morning.
In Uranhall, A, B and C out of a total of a total of 2390 voters, nobody has come out to vote, hundreds of boycott posters have surfaced in the area.
Similarly in Batengoo, Shamsipora, Wanpora, Chukpora, Shoul, Sadsuna no vote has been polled in 11 polling booths.
Heavy Security arrangements have been made in the district, mobile internet has been suspended across South Kashmir.
Kulgam- a volatile district of the Kashmir valley, located down South of Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar is going to polls on Monday (29 April) with over 3.45 lakh electors.
The South Kashmir district has 345,486 electors including 179,607 males, 164,604 females, 1262 service electors (1254 male and 08 female) and 13 transgender voters. For smooth polling, the ECI has set up 433 polling stations across the district.
