PHC Litter Functioning without doctors from last one month

Primary health centre (PHC) Litter in Pulwama district is running without doctors, while most of  the doctors, lab technician and staff nurses are on strike from last one month due to strike of NHM employees.

Locals today morning staged a protest at tehsil headquarter litter and demanded immediate doctors at primary health centre.

Dr sajad working as dental surgeon at PHC litter while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said there are total 16 employees working in hospital including 6 NHM employees.

He added that two doctors namely Dr  Ab Majeed and Dr Neelam Salam are among 6 NHM employees working in the centre who are on strike from last thirty two days due to whivh our whole OPD section is lying defunct.

Moreover centre has no electricity due to patients are suffering, he added.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that tests of many patients are pending in the laboratory of the centre since NHM employees are on strike.

Locals added that despite several pleas authority has failed to provide us new doctor at the centre.

On contacting Naib tehsildar litter Gh Muhammad wani, he said that I have forwarded request to DDC Pulwama and he said that on Monday new doctor will be deployed at the centre

On contacting Chief Medical officer Pulwama Talat jabeen, she admitted that due to strike of NHM employees, there is shortage of doctors however we are working now on rationalisation process.

She assured that for two days at least in week doctor will be available in the centre.
