Engineering Student Goes Missing in Pulwama, May Have joined Militants

August 02 An Engineering student has gone missing from his home in Arabal Nikas in South Kashmir's Pulwama District since Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth identified as Khursheed Ahmed Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik left home early morning on Tuesday and since then there has been no trace of him. The family issued a video immediately urging their son to return home asking Khursheed to consider the ill health of his mother adding that if Khursheed is with anyone, they should let him go home on humanitarian basis. August 02 With the installation of special equipment for night hour aviation operations, the night landing will start at the Srinagar "International" Airport from August 10. As per reports, proposals were sent to all seven airline operating in the region but for now, just two will begin the process, but Initially GoAir and IndiGo have received the permissions to operate in evening hours. Kupwara Erupts Over Militant Killings

August 02 The Kalroosa and Chaiwan localities in North Kashmir's Kupwara district have erupted over the killing of local Militants on Thursday. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting Pro Freedom and Pro Militancy Slogans hit the Kupwara streets condemning the killing of Militants. The troops deployed in the area did not allow the youth to march ahead, responding to which the youth threw stones on Government Forces. The troops fired tear smoke shells to disperse the youth, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed. Two Militants identified as Bilal Ahmed Shah and Zahoor Ahmed Mir had been killed in a gunfight in Kupwara earlier in the day.

Two Local Militants Likely Killed in Kupwara- Internet Suspended

August 02 Two Local Militants have been reportedly killed in the encounter that had raged in the Khumriyal area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Thursday. Weapon of bank Guard Snatched in Islamabad

August 02 Waris Shah Unknown persons overpowered a bank guard on Thursday afternoon and snatched his service rifle, sources told The Kashmiriyat. The guard deployed in a branch of Jammu Kashmir bank at Bul Bul Nowgam area was on duty when unknown youth appeared and overpowered him, snatching his 12 bore rifle. The Forces has reached the spot and have started a search operation to nab the attackers.
