Hurriyat Calls for a Shutdown against the Killing of Hurriyat Activist

September 13 The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Geelani in a statement on Thursday Reiterating his appeal to people  to observe a complete shutdown on Friday 14 September and pay tributes to Hurriyat Activist Hakeem-ur-Rehman Sultani. He asked the people of of Sopore and Zainageer to observe shutdown against the murder of  Hurriyat Activist Hakeem-ur-Rehman Sultani on Friday. The Hurriyat Leader expressed deep and hearty condolences with the parents of Hakeem-ur-Rehman especially with his widow and five daughters and prayed for his heavenly abode and eternal peace.

Educational Institutes to Remain closed in Sopore on Friday

September 13 SHABIR KHAN All educational institutions will remain closed in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday after two foreign Militants were killed in a Gunfight in Arampora area of Sopore. Officials said that the administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Sopore and adjacent areas on Friday as a precautionary measure. A gunfight took place between the militants and the forces early morning during a search operation launched by the Government Forces ending with the killing of two Militants.

Hizb Militant arrested in Uttar Pradesh

September 13 The Police in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday claimed to have arrested a Militant affiliated with Militant outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen from Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh. As per Press trust of India, OP Singh, Director General of Police, "A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was arrested in Kanpur." He also claimed that the Hizb militant was planning to carry out attacks on the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in the North Indian State. His identity could not be confirmed yet.

Hailstorm Causes Heavy Damage to Crops in Budgam

September 13 Rayees Shah Hailstorm on Thursday afternoon caused massive damaged to rice crops, vegetables and fruits in many areas of Central Kashmir's Budgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fields in areas including Beerwah, Kawoosa Khalisa, Chek e Kawoosa, Manzhama, Narbal, Magam suffered heavy damage due to the hailstorm. The hailstorm caused damage apple orchards, maize and rice fields to a great extent.

Government Hospital Supplies Found- Private Dental Clinic Sealed in Islamabad (Anantnag) Town

September 13 The team constituted by the Chief Medical Officer for District Islamabad (Anantnag), Fazil Kochak too oversee malpractices by private clinics today raided a dental clinic in Janglat Mandi area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) township. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the team raided the dental clinic and found the conditions of the clinic unhygienic and there was no facility of sterilization. The team paid surprise visit to the dental clinic in the Janglat Mandi and found most of them in a shabby and unhygienic condition and the tools they were using were not only obsolete but unsterilized. Government Hospital supplies including meant to be used by the Government Hospitals only were also found being illegally being used by the Dental Surgeon, Shabnam Ahmed. ...

Two Affiliates of Zakir Musa Arrested in Ganderbal

September 13 Rayees Shah One local militant affiliated with Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind & an OGW were apprehended by Jammu Kashmir Police in Central Kashmir's ganderbal District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Militant identified as Rouf was involved in weapon snatching case at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar. Rouf, as per initial reports had joined Militancy five months ago. He has been taken into detention and booked under relevant sections of Law.

PM House in Pakistan Will be Converted into Postgraduate Institute

September 13 The land on which Prime Minister House in Pakistan is presently situated will be coverted into a postgraduate institute. Addressing the media in Islamabad on Thursday, the education minister said the public was fed up of the previous governments’ “royal” ways of living. It is important that government officials live in a way that does not waste public money, he said. "Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided that he will not stay in the PM House and governors will not stay in Governor House so that the money can be used for public welfare," he added. According to the education minister, the annual expenditure of PM House was Rs470 million. MeT Predicts Rainfall in Jammu Kashmir on Saturday, Sunday

September 13 After a brief dry spell, the weather department has predicted intermittent rain for two days in Kashmir Valley. A MeT official said that there are chances of rain on Sep 15 and 16 across Kashmir Valley. “Higher reaches and plains can receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday,” he said adding that weather will be clear from Monday. The official added that from Sep 15 there will be a dip in temperature as well.

Pakistan Arrests 18 Indian Fisherman

September 13 Pakistan authorities have arrested 18 Indian fishermen for allegedly fishing in the country’s territorial waters, an official said. The latest batch of Indian fishermen was arrested on Tuesday by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and they will be produced before a judicial magistrate on Thursday by the Docks police, the official said. Two fishing boats of the Indian fishermen were also seized. They will now join hundreds of other Indian fishermen lodged in jails in Karachi before they are released either on completion of sentences or through any goodwill gesture announced by the Pakistan government. CASO Launched in Pulwama Area

September 13 The Government Forces on Thursday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Kangan area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, and SOG of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Kangan area.
