Early Morning CASO Launched in Bijbehara

ISLAMABAD
September 12 The Government Forces on Tuesday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Sheikh Mohallah at Bijbehara area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday morning, the forces including 1 RR of Indian Army, and SOG of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Sheikh Mohallah area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Islamabad (Anantnag) locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed. (The Kashmiriyat)

Grenade Attack on Police Station in Pattan

September 11 Rayees Shah Unknown persons hurled a grenade on Police Station  in Pattan area of North Kashmir's Baramulla District late evening on Tuesday Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade on a Police Station in Pattan area which missed the target and exploded near the gate of the Police station. As per initial reports, nobody has been injured in the attack. A police official while confirming the attack said a search operation has been launched around the area.

Liyakat Ahmad Lone (28) son of late Ghulam Mohuddin Lone had joined militant ranks on 8 July this year on the second anniversary of slain Militant commander Burhan Wani. Non Local Labourer Found with Slit throat in Sopore

September 11 A non local laborer died of grievous injuries after he was found in a pool of blood with throat slit at his rental accommodation at Kaloo Mohallah Sopore  on Tuesday. Identified as Haroon Rashid 28, S/o Toib Alam of Bihar was in a pool of blood with his throat slit and was immediately shifted to SDH Sopore where doctor referred him to SMHS Srinagar for advance treatment. He succumbed due to injuries later. Police in this regard has registered the case and further investigation has taken up.

Two Cameramen of The Kashmiriyat Thrashed in Handwara

Two photographers working with The Kashmiriyat namely Sajad Hameed and Firdous Qadri were rounded by CRPF men and assaulted when they were on the way to cover funeral of a slain Militant in North Kashmir. Intense Clashes in Sopore, Handwara Against Militant Killings

September 11 Intense clashes erupted in Handwara and Sopore areas of North Kashmir on Tuesday over the killing of two Local Militants in a gunfight that raged early morning today in Kaloora forests of Handwara in North Kashmir. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that hundreds of youth took to streets in the North Kashmir areas after the news of the killing of two local Militants spread in the area. Shouting pro Freedom and Pro Militancy slogans, the youth hurled stones on the troops deployed in the area, who fired tear smoke shells on the protesters. Pertinently two Militants killed in the gunfight were identified as Liyaqat Ahmed (27) a resident of Harwan area in Sopore and Furqan aged 18, a resident of Langate area of Handwara in Kupwara District.
