Sri Lanka Suicide bombers Travelled to Kashmir for Training: Army Chief

May 04 Sri Lanka’s army has claimed that the people who carried out the suicide attacks in the country on April 21 had traveled to Kashmir and Kerala to possibly be part of “terrorism” training activities. Shutdown in Pulwama, Shopian to Mourn Militant Killings

May 04 Shutdown is being observed in Pulwama and Shopian districts following killing of three militants in a gunfight with government forces on Friday. Reports said that all the shops and other business establishments are shut in the two districts while public transport is off the roads. Geelani admitted in SKIMS, to change ‘battery of pacemaker’

May 04 Hurriyat Leader Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday was admitted again in Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura. Sources close to Geelani said that he has been admitted in the hospital as he has to ‘change the battery of his pacemaker’. “Doctors are conducting necessary investigations and will accordingly proceed with the procedure,” they said. Three Palestinians killed in Gaza by Isaeli Military

May 04 Three Palestinians, including two Hamas militants, were killed by Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip Friday, authorities in the enclave said, after Israel said two of its soldiers were wounded in a shooting on the border. One of the Palestinians was shot dead during clashes along the frontier while two Hamas fighters were killed in an air strike, the health ministry in Gaza said. The Israeli army said the air strike was in retaliation for the shooting incident on the border that left its soldiers wounded. Pakistan Violates Ceasefire in Kashmir Along Line of Control

May 03 The Pakistani army violated the ceasefire for the second consecutive day Friday by resorting to small arms fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district, an official spokesperson said. “At about 1600 hours, Pakistani army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation with firing of small arms along the LoC in Qasba Sector in Poonch district,” the official said, adding that the Indian Army retaliated effectively, he said.
