Danishwar Hameed The Government Forces raided the Bugam area in South Kashmir's Kulgam District late night on Sunday and arrested at least four boys from the locality. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Government Forces late night on Sunday broke into a few residential houses in this Kulgam  locality and arrested four boys from their houses. Waris Shah With two more deaths, in the Kashmir valley, the death toll due to covid 19 has climbed to 135 on Monday morning. A 56-year-old man from Budgam district in Kashmir, who had been tested positive for COVID-19 died early morning on Monday. Hotpital officials told The Kashmiriyat that the deceased was a resident of Kralpora area in Budgam and he was suffering from Hypertension, other than Chronic Kidney Disease and Community Acquired Pneumonia besides being COVID-19 positive. Lady Killed in Road Accident in Donipawa

Sheikh Nadeem One lady was killed when a speeding vehicle hit her near the Donipowa area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a vehicle plying on the  Achabal- Anantnag main town road turned turtle causing injuries to one passenger. The passenger was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, where she was declared brought dead on her arrival. She has been identified as  Naseena Banoo wife of Javid Ahmad khan, a resident of wangam shangus area in this SOuth Kashmir district. Man Arrested For Domestic Violence in Kashmir’s Sopore

A man was arrested on charges of domestic violence for mercilessly beating of his wife in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Sunday. A police officer told news agency that a family of Bemina Srinagar lodged a complaint with the police against a Sopore resident for beating their daughter ruthlessly for years. Taking note of the incident, police registered a case an FIR under number 173 /2020 under section 498A, 506, and 323 IPC and arrested the accused from his house in Muslimpeer Sopore. The officer said further investigation into this case has been initiated.

Kashmir Losing Agricultural Land at a Drastic Pace

In the Kashmir valley, where Agriculture is the main source of economy there has been a massive dip in the agricultural land holding from 0.62 hectares to 0.59 hectares per person. This official data shows that Kashmir had 4, 67,700-hectares of agricultural land in 2015 which has dropped drastically to 3, 89,000 hectares in 2019, 78,700 hectares of land have been been converted from Agricultural to Non-Agricultural purposes in the last five years in Kashmir. The data reveals that the land under paddy cultivation in Kashmir region shrank from 1, 48,000 hectares in 2015 to 1, 40,000 in 2018. Two Boys Drown in Ganderbal, Rescue Operation Launched

*Two Srinagar boys Two boys drowned in Nallah Sindh in Kijpora area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday late afternoon. A senior police officer told that the two boys aged 17 and 18 drowned in the Nallah while taking a bath. Over 5900 Domicile Certificates Given out This Week in Jammu Kashmir

Over 6,600 applicants, including a large number of retired soldiers and officers from the Gorkha community, have received domicile certificates in Jammu Kashmir in the week, according to a report in The Times of India. Over 5,900 certificates have been issued in Jammu and nearly 700 in Kashmir since the Union Territory administration began issuing the document, a senior Revenue Department official was quoted as saying. The tehsildar of Bahu in Jammu, was quoted as saying that nearly 2,500 members of the Gorkha community who had served in the Indian Army and their families had received domicile status in this tehsil alone.
