A Muslim teenager was raped and later murdered allegedly by another community on September 2 in Palamu. The incident took place 200 km away from her hometown Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. Her body was found in the rented flat of the murderer. The situation is all tense in Hazaribagh District. Three persons, including a 26-year-old woman and her newborn, were killed and five persons injured on Saturday when a van skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, police said. The accident took place near Dhanas village and it is suspected that the driver lost control over the vehicle at a blind curve, a police official said. The vehicle was coming from Chenani, he said. The injured persons were rescued and hospitalised, the official said, adding that the condition of two of them has been stated as serious. The woman, Shaanu Devi, and her child died on the spot, while a 50-year-old person succumbed during treatment, he said.

Tourist police Saturday detained two girls from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district along with an Army soldier when they were walking in suspicion state at Srinagar Airport. Sources told News Agency KNT that these two girls and the soldier were scheduled to board a plane bound for Delhi. Both the girls (names with held) hail from Ajas area of Bandipora. Tourist police detained them and handed them over to police station Humhama. Jyothi Sri Durga, a 19 year old NEET student died by suicide. And left a note to her parents which said ”I am sorry, I am tired”. Jyothisri took her life just one day before the exam, this is the third suicide case in the last one month. The NEET aspirant belonged to Madurai and lived with her family in the armed forces reserve quarters. Her father named Murugasundaram is in the fifth battalion of the armed forces. Danish Alias Krishnan (30) who hails from Coimbatore, and is also a suspected Maoist was arrested while he was coming out of the jail in Thrissur after obtaining bail in 11 UAPA cases against him. Danish had been in the Kerala jail since his arrest from Palakkad district in October 2018, and had been getting bail in one case after another. He could have finally emerged out of the high-security prison after meeting the conditions in the latest bail order, which was issued by a district court in November 2019. In a first, twin remote villages in Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district got mobile connectivity, officials said here. An official told that villages Rajpura and Rampura in Sopore have been provided mobile connectivity for the first time. He said that a mobile tower by Reliance Jio was installed and it was made functional on Friday to give mobile and internet connectivity to the twin villages, The twin villages are famous for their scenic beauty, however, the area lacked mobile phone connectivity for decades. The area is also known as Khudgoo Munglu in local parlance.
