Ahead of BBC documentary screening, Paramilitary reaches Jamia Millia campus

Police and paramilitary forces in large numbers have reached the Jamia Millia campus in Delhi where the Students Federation of India was scheduled to screen the ‘India- The Modi Question’ documentary.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a student of Jamia Millia Islami said that the movie will be screened at MCRC Lawns of Jamia at 6 PM.

“Ahead of the screening, the tension is in the air, paramilitary troopers have been deployed outside the gates of the university and goons can be seen moving outside the gates of the varsity,” he said.

He said that students have already started reaching the venue in large numbers as there is an apprehension that police might seal the venue.

The documentary that claims that PM Modi had direct involvement in Gujarat massacre that led to deaths of thousands of people, mostly Muslims has been banned in India.

It’s screening at Jawaharlal Nehru University led to protests by Right wing mobs at the university on Tuesday night.

Stones were also hurled at the students watching the film after the university admin had shut down electricity at the campus.
