A woman was critically injured after being allegedly assaulted by her in-laws in the Batengoo area of Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Tuesday.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday afternoon a woman (name-with held) was attacked by her in-laws in the Batengoo area when she was at her in-laws house to resolve an ongoing dispute with them, however upon seeing her, her inlaws attacked her. “She has been injured critically in the attack,” the Police official said.
The official said that the Lady was shifted immediately to the Government Medical college in Anantnag where her condition is stated to be critical.
Meanwhile locals told The Kashmiriyat that the woman was undergoing a dispute with her in-laws for a long time, which was being investigated by the Police. “On Tuesday, a Police team reached the spot to meet the in-laws of the woman, however she was attacked and injured critically,” locals said.
The Police official said that an FIR has been registered against the accused and an investigation launched into the incident.
Pertinently this is the second case of domestic violence in less than three weeks, earlier a woman from Aishmuqam was burnt alive by her in-laws in Mattan Anantnag, she succumbed to her injuries days later at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
