BJP Leader from Anantnag Booked Under Arms Act

The Jammu Kashmir Police have registered a case against BJP member and the chairman of Municipal Committee Ashmuqam in Anantnag district of South Kashmir for taking the vice-chairman of the MC hostage at gunpoint and forcibly taking his signatures on blank papers

An official told The Kashmiriyat that the vice-chairman of Municipal Committee Ashmuqam, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, had filed a complaint with the police at Police Station Ashmuqam stating that Abdul Waheed Bhat, the chairman abducted him in his vehicle and later took him to an unknown place and forced his signatures on black pieces of paper.

“He pointed a gun towards me and threatened to kill me if i did not sign the papers,” Wani told the Police in his complaint while asking the Jammu Kashmir Police to get those papers signed by the Chairman back.

Wani filed a Police complaint and the Police soon swung into action and filed an FIR under the number 9/2021 under Sections 506, 364, 420, 7/25 Arms Act in PS Ashmuqam and have launched an investigation into the matter.

According to Sources, Abdul Waheed Bhat joined the BJP a few years back
