No board exams for 8th, 9th standard students: Government

T2 exams of 8th, 9th standard to be conducted at school level for current session The government has said that term-end board examinations of 8th and 9th standard shall be conducted at school level for the current session in face-to-face offline mode. Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tassaduq Hussain Mir said that the examination for these classes would be conducted by the concerned schools and they shall follow the same pattern of preious academic years to assess the students accordingly. Change in School Timings in Kashmir from November 1

EDUCATION
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued an order with regard to change in school timings. As per an order issued by the DSEK in this regard, all government and recognised private schools within Srinagar Municipal limits would operate from 10 am to 3 pm from Monday while those located outside Srinagar municipal limits will remain functional from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. “The order shall be adhered to strictly by all the concerned government and private schools. Any deviation in this regard will be viewed very seriously,” the order reads.

9 KU scientists make it to Stanford University’s research database

At least nine scientists from the University of Kashmir have figured in the research database of the Stanford University that ranks top 2 percent of scientists worldwide. The scientists are ranked on the basis of some key indices, including publications and citations. 10th, 12th students to carry ‘consent signed by parents, guardians’ for taking exams in J-K

Government has issued fresh covid-19 guidelines, among others mandating “consent by parents or legal guardians” for students of 10th and 12th class for taking examinations in Jammu and Kashmir. Offline Board Examinations for 12th and 10th classes have been permitted to be held in a staggered manner keeping in view all the social distancing norms and Covid Appropriate Behaviour. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has yet again ignored the High Court directions by restricting the coaching centres from recruiting government teachers for tuitions, teachers associations said on Saturday. The fresh order issued by the Director School Education had asked the private coaching centres to ensure that no government employee is imparting teaching in their coaching centres and warned the owners of strict action if they failed to follow the dictate. Sahil Gulzar Kashmir University postponed all UG examinations scheduled to be held on Saturday amid inclement weather. “In view of inclement weather, all UG examinations of the University of Kashmir scheduled today on 23-10-2021 are hereby postponed,” Officials in KU told The Kashmiriyat.
