Ground Report-Horticulture Economy threatened due to Disease

July 14 The incessant rains, weather changes in the Kashmir valley have caused several disturbances in the normal growth of horticulture sector  and resulted in the spread of dreadful disease to the leaves of apple trees like Alterneria which is fast spreading fungal disease. It directly impacts quality horticulture produce & disturbs economy of the fruit growers of the valley. Majority of fruit growers of District Islamabad (Anantnag) while speaking to The Kashmiriyat have expressed their grief over the fast spread of the said disease. Ground Report- Tangmarg Bus Stand Ignored, Business in Shambles

  July 14 Sajad Hameed Tangmarg is located gate way of world famous tourist resort Gulmarg in North Kashmir as well as functioning per pattern of sub district. All  head of the Government offices are located in the surrounding areas of main market at Tangmarg, but unfortunately authorities have totally ignored the place for the last four years. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that despite paying taxes and rent for the bus stand, the roads have developed big deep path poles at the bus stand. July 14 Amid the swift rise in the Militant recruitment in Kashmir, another photograph of Kashmiri Militants has gone viral over Social Networking. In this new photograph, 14 Militants have posed with automatic rifles in a Burhan- Style photograph which had gone viral in 2015. July 14 Two Ladies were injured when allegedly fired tear smoke shells on protester in Trehgam area of Kupwara The Trehgam belt of North Kashmir's Kupwara district is observing a complete shutdown over the killing of a civilian namely Khalid Gaffar Malik. Shops, Business establishments, Educational Institutes are shut in the area while vehicular movement is very thin in the areas. July 14 Locals in Heff village of South Kashmir's Shopian district exhumed the body of civilian killed by unknown gunmen before 5 days and buried him next to slain HM commander Sadam Padder. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that soon after Friday prayers at least six militants appeared at the graveyard where Tariq was buried and declared him martyr and asked them to bury him next to slain hizb commander Sadam Padder. 6 injured in road accident at Pampore

July 13 At least six persons including two children were injured in an accident at kandizal area of Pampore on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the accident took place on National highway near new bypass between Maruti Alto 800 and bullet proof bunker of 183 bn CRPF. They added that injured persons were shifted to sub district hospital Pampore where there condition is said to be stable.

Youth from Native of Burhan Wani Joins Hizb ul Mujahideen

July 11 Another Youth from South Kashmir has joined Militant ranks making him one of the at least hundred youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Jahangeer Ahmed Wani, a resident of Ameerabad Tral area in Pulwama has joined Militant outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen. The 23 year old, a 12th class pass out was missing from his home in Ameerabad Tral area of Pulwama. Forces Set Ablaze carts of Fruit Vendors in Soura, Clashes Continue

July 11 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted in Pandan area of Soura in Srinagar as hundreds of youth hit the streets. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth shouting slogans against civilian killings appeared on the roads and the forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells on them. The youth in retaliation threw stones on them and tried to chase them away, however the youth regrouped in large numbers and continued the stone throwing. The Government Forces allegedly set ablaze the carts of fruit vendors and vegetable sellers along with stock in Soura area, Locals alleged. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that protesters later arrived at the spot and tried their best to doze off the fire. The clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Youth Killed In Army firing at Trehgam

July 11 A civilian has been shot dead during the clashes in Trehgam area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a civilian identified as Khalid Gaffar was shot by government forces as clashes erupted in Trehgam area. Khalid who is a 22 year old youth had received multiple bullet wounds including one on his neck. Clashes had erupted between Government Forces and civilians in the Trehgam area on Wednesday night. An Army official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a cavalcade of Indian Army had come under attack from stone throwers and they had to fire in self defence. Khalid is the fifth civilian to be killed in a span of less than five days, earlier three civilians were killed in Kulgam on Saturday, one in Shopian on Tuesday....
