February 16 Accusing the Indian Army of Vadalization on Friday night, the locals of Churath, Czogam in Qazigund area of South Kashmir said that the entire area is being threatened by the Army. Locals from the area told The Kashmiriyat that Army men around 8 pm, entered the Churath area and vandalized window panes and doors of more than twenty houses. February 13 Two militants were killed during an encounter at Wathoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam on Wednesday morning. Officials have identified them as affiliates of Lashkar e Taiba and said they are from the Kulgam district in South Kashmir. Thousands Attend Funeral of 18 year old Militant in Kulgam

February 10 Amid intense sloganeering, Thousands of people thronged Quimoh area in Kulgam district of South Kashmir to attend the funeral of Parvez Ahmed (Hubaib). Eyewitnesses informed The Kashmiriyat that people from various parts of South Kashmir reached Quimoh to attend the funeral of the 18 year old slain. As soon as the body of slain reached his home, the army burst into intense pro independence and pro Pakistan slogans. 18 year old, Parvez had joined Militant ranks in July last year. A resident of Mokdampora in Quimoh, Parvez was a student of Government Higher Secondary school in Islamabad (Anantnag).

An Army official told The Kashmiriyat that five dead bodies were recovered from the encounter site on Sunday noon. He said however the search operations are going on. February  08 Kund Bowl witnessed a major spell of snowfall for the past 48 hrs which triggered avalanches during night 7/8 Feb in two villages of Gagarmandu and Antaarnad. Amidst heavy snowfall, The Army organised a relief patrol the same night and reached the affected villages. They reassured the civilians and helped the local villagers whose houses were buried under avalanche to settle their families. Jawahar Tunnel Avalanche- One Policeman Recovered Alive, One Dead Body Found

February 08 One more policemen have been rescued alive and shifted to Qazigund hospital while one body has also been retrieved from the snow avalanche site at Jawahar tunnel on Friday. Officials said efforts are on to trace the seven others at the site. According to SDRF officials two persons have been retrieved alive so far including SPO Gulzar ahmad mir retrieved earlier today. Officials have not released identity of the two persons rescued alive and of the body found yet. Pertinently ten people were missing after an avalanche hit  Jawahar Tunnel on Thursday evening burying ten persons including six policemen, two fire service personnel and two prisoners. However search for other trapped persons is on.
