The Chinese government stated that the country plans to hold further military exercises from Monday along its northeast and eastern coast.

The statement comes amid rising regional tension as China is reportedly seen carrying out a series of unusual back-to-back military drills.

The first set of the military drill will be conducted on Monday in the Bohai Sea, off the northeastern port of Qinhuangdao, according to the Maritime Safety Administration.

The second set of the military drill will include live-fire exercises and will be held in the southern part of the Yellow Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a separate posting by the Maritime Safety Administration.

The Maritime Safety Administration also stated all other ships being prohibited from entering the area.

Last month, in a rare move according to Chinese military experts, China held four separate exercises, from the Bohai Sea to the East, and Yellow Seas and down to the disputed South China Sea.

China has often complained about continuous US military missions in the South China Sea.

On Saturday, India and China marked the highest-level face-to-face political contact for discussing the recent 29-30 August border clash on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The India defense ministry in a statement stated that the two countries agreed to ease tensions.

Tensions amid India- China first flared in May and later led to the border clash in Galwan Valley, Ladakh, in June which resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers.

On 29-30 August, Indian army accused China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers of making ‘provocative military movements’ on the southern bank of Pangong Tso, across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in an attempt to alter the status quo, the Indian army had said in a statement.
