In order to discuss and review the implementation of Yuva Sahakar scheme in the district, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya in his office Chamber at Mini Secretariat, here.
The meeting held detailed discussion regarding the implementation and monitoring of the ‘Yuva Sahakar-Cooperative Enterprise Support and Innovation Scheme” launched by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in Shopian district.
On the occasion, the DC directed all line departments to hold interactions with the registered Cooperative Societies in the district and make them aware about the objectives and benefits of Yuva Sahakar scheme so that more livelihood generation avenues are provided to the youth of the district.
He also instructed concerned to prepare comprehensive sector wise plans under the scheme within days so that new Cooperative Societies led by the young entrepreneurs are formed.
The DC stressed on extending the ambit of the scheme to other line departments including Handicrafts, Handloom, NRLM, Employment to achieve a desired target on ground.
Highlighting the objectives of the scheme, the DC said that the Yuva Sahakar scheme is aimed to fulfil aspirations of the youth and NCDC has come up with a youth-friendly scheme for attracting them to cooperative business ventures.
He said NCDC has created a dedicated funding with liberal features enabling youth to opt for the scheme. He also said the newly launched scheme would encourage Cooperatives to venture into new areas and the Government has been encouraging start-ups.
It was given out in the meeting that the scheme will have more incentives for cooperative members.

Shopian, Manzoor Hussain, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives and other concerned were present in the meeting.
