A brief encounter broke out between militants and government forces in the Kamrazipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An army personnel was killed and another was injured in the gunfight. A militant is also reported to have been killed.
An official, while talking to media said, “an exchange of fire took place at around 2:30 am in the morning, in which two army men received injuries. One among them succumbed to his injuries at 92 Base Army Hospital Srinagar.”
“A body of the militant was also retrieved from the encounter spot”, he added.
This was a joint Operation between a team of the police, the Army’s 53 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF. After launching a cordon-and-search-operation in Kamrazipora, the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them to which they retaliated, thus triggering a gunfight.
