Kashmiri based-journalist Idrees Lone has won the “Best Rural Reporting’ award for the story on health workers in Kashmir at the Afaqs, The Future of News Awards at New Delhi.
Idrees Lone’s report “Health Workers in Kashmir” for Wion news was presented with a gold trophy at the award ceremony.
The future of News Awards recognizes and rewards the best News on TV and Online.
Lone’s story was about the health professionals including women who braved not only the health scare but the below zero-degree temperatures in the upper reaches of Jammu Kashmir, to carry out the door-to-door Covid vaccination program and walk-through snow-clad roads. Wion had joined these health workers to see what it takes to complete the mission of Immunisation.
