Operation Sindoor: 24 missiles, 25 minutes, 9 locations

India carried out a 25-minute missile strike early Tuesday, hitting nine terror camps across Pakistan in a swift retaliation for the recent Pahalgam attack, NDTV reported.

In the early hours of May 7, between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM, Indian armed forces launched a swift and coordinated military strike—codenamed Operation Sindoor—targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan.

“The operation involved 24 missile launches over a span of just 25 minutes and resulted in the killing of 70 terrorists and injuries to over 60 others,” officials said.

The missile strikes hit camps located in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal. Bahawalpur, a known base of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and Muzaffarabad, frequently cited by intelligence agencies as a logistical hub for infiltration into Kashmir, were among the high-priority targets.

Masood Azhar, the chief of Jaish e Muhammad has confirmed that 14 of his associates were killed during the Indian strikes.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, flanked by Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh at a New Delhi press briefing, said the operation was a “measured and proportionate” response to dismantle long-standing terror infrastructure.

According to Misri, real-time surveillance confirmed destruction of command centres, arms depots, and staging points—avoiding any direct hit on Pakistani military installations to contain escalation.

Though the Indian government has claimed minimal collateral damage, local sources in Kashmir confirmed that at least three civilians were killed in the intensified crackdown and follow-up raids post-April 22.

The operation utilized a mix of ground-launched and air-launched precision-guided munitions, including laser-designated missiles and satellite-guided glide bombs, ensuring maximum impact on targets with synchronized strikes from multiple platforms.
