Danishwar Hameed The Winter carnival in Kulgam district was held on Monday, 14th of February with the opening event to kick start at Aharbal tourism destination. Trekking expeditions, multifarious Snow sports activities, adventure camps were the main attraction and part of the Winter Carnival. The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam was the chief guest of the event. The Div Com Kashmir was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam and other officers.

SKIMS Bemina to resume normal activities from Feb 16

Admin announces ‘One-Time Age Relaxation’ for candidates who had earlier applied for withdrawn posts

In respect of the posts withdrawn by virtue of recent decision of Administrative Council, J&K Government has ordered one-time age relaxation for candidates who had earlier applied for these posts and were eligible in terms of age but have in the meantime crossed the upper age limit. The Government also states that subject to the fulfillment of other conditions of eligibility, a candidate shall be deemed to be eligible in terms of upper age limit, if he/she applies for the said post(s) in pursuance to fresh advertisement, as and when issued by JKPSC/SSB.

JK reports 245 Covid-19 cases, Lowest single day tally in 41 days

Jammu Kashmir reported 245 fresh covid-19 cases, lowest daily count in 41 days, even as there was no death to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday. They said, 160 of the cases were reported from Jammu Division and 85 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 451016. Giving district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 32 cases, Baramulla 10, Budgam 12, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 16, Anantnag 2, Bandipora 4, Ganderbal 0, Kulgam 5, Shopian 2, Jammu 38, Udhampur 4, Rajouri 8, Doda 65, Kathua 2, Samba 0, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 1, Ramban 27 and Reasi 14. A 37-year-old journalist based in Gujrat was killed in front of his wife and their 3 daughters in broad daylight. According to reports, initially, Four people rammed their car into Junaid Khan Pathan’s motorcycle and then stabbed him, Times of India reported. Pathan was traveling with his wife and three daughters- aged 10, four, two-and-a-half-years-to meet relatives in Shahpore Vad when the accused hit their car into his vehicle. All five bikers fell on the road after being hit from behind by a car. Four people immediately got down from the car and stabbed Pathan in the back with a knife.
