Suspected militants on Monday afternoon shot dead a BJP Sarpanch and his wife from Kulgam, presently living in Lal Chowk area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a Sarpanch namely Ghulam Rasool of Redwani Bala, who is affiliated with BJP and his wife Jawhara Banoo were fire upon by suspected militants in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag. Fire partially damaged Darul Aloom Syed Aali Balki at Pakherpora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Monday afternoon.
