A 19-year old boy from Keshwan area in Thakrie block of Chenab Valley's Kishtwar District has reportedly joined militant ranks in Kashmir. Identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Late Lal Din R/o Sarwan Keshwan, who went missing on September 23rd has been traced with militants in Shopian District of South Kashmir. Quoting a senior police officer, a report by Early Times said that Lal Din, the father of the missing youth, was also a militant who was killed during an encounter with government forces in 2007 when Saleem was 6 years old. Skinder Gull Ex Militant Tanveer Ahmad Sofi of Kakpora Pulwama who was injured in Militant attack on 15 Oct, Succumbed in SMHS hospital Srinagar on this morning. Unknown gunmen on October 15 evening had shot at a former militant in Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. An official had said that an ex-militant identified as Tanveer Ahmad Sofi (30), son of Ghulam Muhammad Sofi of Sofi Mohalla Kakapora was shot at near J&K Bank Kakapora. He added that Tanveer received bullet injuries and was shifted to SMHS in Srinagar for treatment where his condition is said to be critical. He added that he was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and later surrendered. He was later engaged in Sericulture department, officials said.
