CASO Launched By Forces in Shopian Area

December  14 The Government Forces on Friday launched a cordon and search operation in Shermal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army  sealed all the entry and exit points to the Shermal area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Shopian locality and are conducting a massive search operation in the orchards in the area. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.  Shermal pertinently is the native of slain Saddam Padder, Wasim Shah and seven other slain Militants. (The Kashmiriyat).

The 15 Second video posted on Social networking Tik Tok has evoked sharp criticism as the video has been clicked without the consent of the two girls as clearly visible in the video. In this video, the Army man in Army fatigue can be seen holding a rifle amid slight snowfall in the background, the girls are annoyed as they pass by carrying a basket of vegetables, wearing their traditional attire. Bar Association of Islamabad (Anantnag) Demands Removal of DC

December 14 The Bar Association of Islamabad (Anantnag) on Friday calling the District Development commissioner of this South Kashmir District as a miserable failure has demanded the transfer of the official. December 14 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a man arrested with IED in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. The Jammu Kashmir Police said that, Police in Pulwama arrested one individual carrying explosives substances & IED adding that a Case has been registered against him and further investigation is in progress. We Must have Acted Upon Report Submitted by Interlocutors in 2011, Says Chidambaram

December 14 Former Union Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday said the UPA government should have acted on the report submitted by three interlocutors on Kashmir in 2011 and he “deeply regrets” the way it was handled, as he underscored that talks are the “only way forward” to resolve Kashmir’s problems. Two lslamabad (Anantnag) Residents Critically wounded in Road Accident

December 13 Two youth from Islamabad (Anantnag) were critically injured in a road accident near Pampore on Srinagar-Jammu highway. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the duo identified as Bilal Khanday and Saif Dar were travelling in a car bearing registration number JK03A-9672 and it turned turtle near Frestabal Pampore resulting in injuries to both of them. Both Residents of Tulkhan Bijbehara were referred to nearby hospital for treatment from where they were shifted to Srinagar for treatment.

3 Year Old Dalit Girl Raped, then Killed in Rajhastan

December 13 An eight-year-old Dalit girl, who had gone missing after she went to graze cattle, is suspected to have been strangled to death after being raped in a village in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, police said Wednesday. The deceased, a Class III student, was missing since Tuesday night and her body was found in a mustard field in her village on Wednesday. Prima facie, the girl was strangulated and she was also raped, a police officer said. There were no visible injury marks on her body except a slight scratch on her chest. Jammu- Srinagar Highway Closed after Heavy Snowfall

December 13 The Jammu-Srinagar national Highway has been closed for traffic on Thursday, a traffic police official told The Kashmiriyat. On Thursday, the Highway will remain closed for all kinds of traffic due to heavy snowfall at Jawahar Tunnel and adjoining areas in South Kashmir, he said. “Men and machinery have been pressed in to clear the roads but it’s still snowing at few places which is hampering the clearance operation,” he added.
