The annual Milad procession attended by tens of thousands of people was taken out in Anantnag town of South Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
Attended by Kashmiris in large numbers, the procession began from the Jamia masjid of Anantnag, and then marching through the lanes and bylanes of Anantnag town, the historical march culminated at Martyrs Graveyard, where tributes were paid to the Martyrs of Kashmir.
Reciting Duroods (praises of the Prophet) and Holy Quran, the devotees marched the streets with folded hands praying for peace in Kashmir. The streets that wore a decorated look, were flooded by residents from all over South Kashmir where the locals had made arrangements of food and water for those who participated in the procession.
The day is marked to commemorate the defending of the last Messenger of Allah Prophet Mohammad (SAW) on the earth.
Addressing the gathering here, the principal of Idara Tehqiqat e Islami, Moulana Irshad Attari said that all ulema stand with the minorities of Kashmir and we have time and again proven that we treat people from outside and minorities with respect.
He said that the Muslims of Kashmir stand with the minorities. Also, the Muslims of Kashmir will not allow any politics of demonization of the locals over the dead bodies of anyone.
Emphsasing on the need of remaining united, he said, “At this crucial juncture, Muslims need to stay united and avoid any infighting to defeat the larger conspires hatched against Muslims in the present times.”
“The Muslims of Kashmir pray for peace and such peace was taught by our beloved prophet throughout his life,” he said.
Speaking about the drug menace in Kashmir, Irshad Attari expressed grief and said youngsters in Kashmir are getting addicted to drugs. The youth should follow the teachings of the beloved prophet which can guide us in this age of deceit and lies.
Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir police, traffic cops remained on their toes throughout the day to take control of the security situation.
Meanwhile, Tens of thousands of devotees converged at the Kabamarg shrine as Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi (SAW) was celebrated with religious fervor and zeal.
The decades long Milad ul Nabi procession attended by people from nooks and corners of the Kashmir valley is taken out from the historical Jamia Masjid of Anantnag and then culminates at the Lal Chowk or the martyrs graveyard of the town.
