Since Decades Locals from Dooru Area Await the Construction of a Bridge

The Khadar Kapran Bridge in the Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district has not been completed for the last several decades due to which the local population is facing severe difficulties.

Khadar Kapran, the last village of Dooru Shahabad constituency of South Kashmir, still lacks basic amenities even in this modern age.

Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that there is a long-standing demand for the bridge over the last several decades.

“Clots were also made for the bridge in 2011 but even after 9 years, work on the bridge has not started and no bridge has been built in the village,” a local said.

He said that politicians have won votes till date but failed to implement the promises made during the elections., adding, “Every politician has promised to help the poor people here.

He said that although the locals had approached the officials many times about the construction of the bridge in Khadar Kapran, however, till date, nothing has been achieved except assurances. ۔

The locals have appealed to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to take their problems seriously and issue orders to the concerned department to start work on the bridge so that the locals do not have to suffer anymore.
