The SDH was converted into COVID designated hospital by district administration with the help of health department and was shifted to MCH Sopore, which has left the poor patients to suffer as the non-COVID patients are being pushed to the wall since then in the past 6 months.
A pregnant women from the locality told the news agency – KNO “We were told to visit Pattan, Baramulla or Srinagar hospital for necessary surgeries,” she said, adding that the officials even told them there is no heating arrangement in the hospital as well.
Various Civil organization bodies of Sopore including Trade, Civil Society, Economic Alliance, Pharma Distributors and other bodies held an important meeting wherein the organizations demanded Administration and health Department to shift back SDH Sopore to its main building in shortest possible time, else they will be forced to hit streets to press for their demands.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Soproe, Dr Asif Khanday told KNO that efforts are on to shift the SDH Sopore to its previous building. “It is upto the higher ups to take a call on it, but our efforts are on to rake up the demands of general public to the concerned officials,” he said.
