Two Militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and Government forces in Heff Khuri area in Zainapora belt of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday evening.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Police, Indian Army’s 44 RR and 178 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation on tip off about the movement of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
During the exchange of gunfire, two Militants were killed, who are believed to be associated with Hizb ul Mujahideen.
As per officials, the operation is in it’s last phase as one more militant is believed to be holed up in the area.
One pistol and one AK47 have also been recovered from the slain Militants.
