Update- 3 Troopers, 3 Civilians Killed in Ceasefire Violation Across LOC

A Sub Inspector of Border Security Force (BSF) was among three Government Force personnel killed on Friday while three civilians were also killed during cross-border shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).

An official told The Kashmiriyat that the Pakistani rangers near Hajipper Sector in Uri, In Rajouri on Friday restored to unprovoked firing along the line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

They said that six persons including three Government Forces personnel were killed, while six others were injured, one of whom has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

The official identified the killed BSF Sub Inspector as Rakesh Doval adding that, “Two others have received injuries during the cross-border firing.”

The two others killed during the firing were from the 18th Maratha regiment of the Indian Army.

The official said that three civilians were also killed during the firing.

He identified the slain civilians as Farooq Begum wife of Bashir Ahmed Dar, Nadir Hussain Peer son of Peer Mohammed Hussain, and Tahir Ahmed son of Jalal u Din.

The injured were identified as Rehana Khursheed(14), Daughter of Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Munaza Jamsheed(12), Daughter of Jamsheed Ahmad, Jabbar Ahmad Ganie (72), Son of Laasi Ganie and Sada Begum(62) all the resident of Bagtore Gurez.

Earlier Pakistan in a statement had blamed India for the ceasefire violation adding that one civilian had been killed in the firing of the forces.
