The wife of deceased senior journalist, Maqbool Veeray passed away on Friday afternoon after illness at District Hospital, Anantnag.
Samina Veeray (55), the wife of the renowned Journalist had been unwell since her husband passed away.
Several people from different areas have thronged their residence at Shirpora where her Nimaz e Jinaza will be offered shortly.
Various Journalists and civil society members have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Samina is survived by Zamin Veeray, her son and two young daughters.
Salman Shah, Editor of The Kashsmiriyat in a condolence message wrote, “The wife of Senior & renowned Journalist, Late Maqbool Veeray passed away on Friday afternoon at GMC Anantnag. A motherly figure to me, and many other journalists of Anantnag, who learnt so much from Late Veeray Sahab, she was a wonderful soul and always made wishes and prayers for people who visited the house of late Veeray sahab. I am extremely sad and grieved at this Loss. May Allah elate her status in Jannah and give patience to the family to bear this loss.”
Pertinently Senior Journalist of south Kashmir Maqbool Veeray passed away on 27 December 2019.
Veeray was working as the editor in chief with the Sachnews portal and was earlier associated with many news organizations including Shahr Been radio program.
