Kulgam Encounter: Government of India Must Come Clean on Allegations Raised by the Family: Mehbooba Mufti

Responding to the claims made by the family of the youth killed in Kulgam Encounter on Wednesday, The former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti has demanded that the Government must come clean on the allegations.

In a tweet, Ms. Mufti said, “Encounters occur on a daily basis in J&K. But when legitimate questions are raised the security forces must be held accountable. The parents of the 17 yr old minor killed in the Kulgam gunfight claim that he was an innocent civilian. GOI must come clean on these allegations.”

Pertinently the family of the 17-year-old Zakir Bashir Naik of Czimmer area in Kulgam had refuted the Police statement in which they said Zakir had recently joined  Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba.

The Police on Friday, in a fresh statement, said that Zakir was a Lashkar Militant and had recently joined the outfit.
