Three militants have been killed in the encounter that raged late on Thursday in the Badigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that joint Forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police had jointly launched the Anti- Militancy operation.
The encounter begun when Forces were fired upon by Militants during the operation, to which the forces retaliated.
During the exchange of gunfire, three unidentified Militants were killed.
The official said that two AK-47 Rifles and one pistol has been recovered from the slain Militants, who are likely locals.
Meanwhile Locals told The Kashmiriyat that one house has been completely damaged in the encounter while internet has been completely snapped in this South Kashmir district.
An official said that the internet has been snapped as a precautionary measure to avoid any law and order situation.
