Three Militants Killed in Shopian Encounter- Militants Trapped in Pampore Mosque Also Killed

One more militant was killed in the ongoing gunfight that broke out on Friday in Bandpawa area of Chitragam Tehsil in south Kashmir's Shopian district. An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Bandpawa area in Imam Sahib area of Shopian  district on Thursday afternoon. A Security official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 44 RR, CRPF and Shopian Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
