Carpenter Dies after Falling from a Rooftop in Ganderbal

Basit Shah   On Sunday, a carpenter from Kashmir, died from falling of a roof top in Ganderbal. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Hassan Khattan (53) who was a resident of Harwan in Kashmir's central district, Srinagar. Ghulam Hassan, fell off the roof of the newly constructed house that belonged to Ishfaq Agmed Chechi. After falling from the roof top, Ghulam Hassan was rushed to SDH Kangan, where the attending residents declared that he was brought dead to the hospital.

Poet and Activist Varavara Rao Discharged from Hospital

  On late Saturday night, Varavara Rao, poet and activist was discharged from Nanavati Hospital. On February 22, the Bombay High Court granted him interim bail on medical grounds for six months. A bench of Justices S. S Shinde and Manish Pitale ordered that Rao to be discharged from the hospital, depending on his health condition, and released him on interim bail immediately after his discharge on Saturday. Rao is one of the accused in the Elgar Parishad - Maoist links case and was arrested on June 2018.
