Youth in large numbers attacked the Polling station in Quimoh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday morning as the area goes to polls in the second leg of three phased polls for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.

Hundreds of youth from nearby areas have rounded up the Polling booth and are throwing stones on the booth installed in the Government Higher Secondary school in the Quimoh area for Redwani and Quimoh areas.

The Government Forces responded with immense tear smoke shelling and pellet firing at the protesters.

Meanwhile only one person cast vote here out of a total of 3900 voters amid tight security arrangements, Locals told The Kashmiriyat that polling booths were installed during the night time in apprehension of clashes.

Redwani Ghat and Bala are at least 2 Kilometers away from here, no polling station has been established in that area.
