Fire breaks out in residential house in Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed Fire broke out in a residential in Gadwani area of Damhal Hanji Pora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday afternoon, fire broke out in the house of Ghulam Mohammed Dar, a local resident. Soon after the incident, fire tender rushed to the spot to douse off the flames. In the mishap, the house was partially damaged, and property and valuables goods were destroyed. Meanwhile the cause of fire was not immediately known, however, no one sustained injuries during the mishap.

Shabir Khan Two residential houses and a cowshed were damaged during a midnight blaze in Kanyari area of north Kashmir Bandipora district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday night fire broke out from a residential house in Kanyari and later spread to nearby structures. The locals with the help of fire tenders brought the fire under control, however, two residential houses and one cowshed was damaged during the incident. The residential houses belonged to Noori Begum, wife of late Abdul Salam Malla and Habibulah Kaloo son of Mohammed Ramzan Kaloo. The cause of fire is being ascertained. Meanwhile local residents have appealed to the the district administration to compensate the losses faced by the affected families.

Eleven cattle charred to death in Mendhar fire incident

Ten goats and a bull were charred to death in a mysterious fire in cattle shed overnight in Mendhar area of Poonch district. Officials said that the fire erupted in the cattle shed of one Naseem Begum wife of late Karamat Hussain Khan in Ward No. 05 in Panchayat Takia Kalaban area of the district around midnight. By the time the blaze was controlled, ten goats and a bull were charred alive. The investigation into the cause of the fire is being investigated, a police official said. The fire has meant that the “poor” widow has lost all her wealth and sources of income, the locals said and urged authorities to provide immediate compensation to her. GNS

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday afternoon, a vegetable shop located in the main market of Czawalgam caught fire, however, due to the timely intervention of Fire and Emergency services the fire was stopped from spreading any further. He said that the shop belonging to a local  Sheeraz Ahmed Kumhar of Czawalgam was damaged in the fire incident. The immediate cause of the fire is not know yet. At least six residential houses were damaged in an overnight blaze in the Dalgate area of Srinagar. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday massive flames broke out from a residential house in the Kunrache area of Srinagar's Dalgate which spread to the nearby houses. The fire soon spread to the nearby houses in the congested locality, causing damage to at least six residential houses. The fire tenders along with locals rushed to the spot and prevented the fire from spreading further, they said.
