Rahul Gandhi on a Two Day Visit to Flood Hit Kerala

August 28 The Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited the flood hit Kerala and met the affected people. Rahul who is on a two-day visit to the flood hit Kerala had appealed the Central government to provide help to flood-hit Kerala. On Tuesday, Rahul met flood-affected people at Chengannur and is also scheduled to visit flood-hit regions including Alappuzha and Angamaly later in the day. He will also visit flood-affected areas on Wednesday. 265 were killed in the floods that hit the state on 8 August, while 36 people are still missing, according to the latest government figure.  

Swami Agnivesh Assaulted on way to Pay tributes to Vajpayee

August 18 Prominent Social activist Swami Agnivesh was abused and thrashed outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi when was on way to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away yesterday (friday). Soon after Swani Agnivesh went to the BJP office, a group of persons started raising slogans against him, asking him to go back. Soon he was chased by a group of people, believed to be Bharatiya Janata Party workers, who later assaulted him. Delhi Police then whisked away Agnivesh to safety in a van.

“Modi Government has No Policy on Kashmir and Pakistan”

June 28 Taking a dig at the Narendra Modi government, former Union Minister and seasoned politician Arun Shourie on Monday said it was a “one-trick horse” with no concrete policy either on Kashmir or Pakistan. “There is no government and no policy regarding Kashmir or Pakistan or even the banks… What we have is a one-trick horse that only knows how to divide the Hindus and Muslims of this country,” Shourie said at the launch of senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz’s new book in New Delhi.
