Rahul Gandhi on a Two Day Visit to Flood Hit Kerala

August 28 The Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited the flood hit Kerala and met the affected people. Rahul who is on a two-day visit to the flood hit Kerala had appealed the Central government to provide help to flood-hit Kerala. On Tuesday, Rahul met flood-affected people at Chengannur and is also scheduled to visit flood-hit regions including Alappuzha and Angamaly later in the day. He will also visit flood-affected areas on Wednesday. 265 were killed in the floods that hit the state on 8 August, while 36 people are still missing, according to the latest government figure.  

Kashmiris will do Everything Possible to help Flood Hit Kerala, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir

August 22 The Chairman of Ummat e Islami and the Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir today addressed people at Eid Gah in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) on the occasion of Eid ul Adha. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir in his speech called the dialogue a mere rhetoric and said that people of Kashmir are being used as a fodder to politics of BJP at the center. Kerala Flood- At least 100 Feared to be Dead

August 17 The incessant rains and floods continued to wreak havoc in Kerala with the death toll due to the worst flooding in nearly a century crossing 100 and Many are feared missing. Pathanamthitta district in central Kerala continued to be the worst affected in the last 24 hours as thousands of people are trapped in their homes in the towns of Ranni, Aranmula and Kozhencherry. With rains still pouring down heavily leading to flooding across Kerala, 20 fresh deaths were reported on Thursday, taking the toll to 87, since August 8. Meanwhile, the operations at Cochin International Airport have been suspended till Saturday 2 pm after flood water submerged the runway.
