2 Militants Likely Killed, Massive Gunfight Underway

Two Militants reportedly have been killed in the ongoing gunfight with Government Forces at Kundalan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.

Intermittent firing is going on at Kundalan area of Shopian District in South Kashmir between Militants and Government forces where an encounter raged early morning on Tuesday.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that three Militants are believed to be trapped at the encounter site including a Militant whose father died of a cardiac arrest.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 34 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police are jointly conducting the operation.

Officials said that the gunfight began when hiding Militant opened fire on Forces who were conducting a Cordon and Search Operation in the area.

Earlier Zeenat of Jaish e Muhammad who had joined Militant ranks in June this year had called his home telling them he is trapped at the Gunfight sight after which his father died of a cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile Massive clashes also broke at the encounter site as Internet services continue to be banned in the entire South Kashmir.
