After Politicians, Teachers to Boycott Upcoming Elections

After political parties including the PDP and National Conference the teachers on a strike in Jammu and Srinagar have decided for a boycott of upcoming polls in Jammu Kashmir.

The aggrieved teachers who are on a hunger strike for the 18th day in Srinagar and Day 22 in Jammu in conversation with The Kashmiriyat have said the no teacher will go to polling stations for election duty.

“we have called for a complete boycott of the urban bodies and Panchayat polls in the state as the Governor has failed to address the demand of the teachers,” a teacher told The Kashmiriyat.

A teacher said that Government should stop to test the patience of teachers.

The teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan scheme including head teachers have been demanding implementation of 7th pay commission.
