The residents of Manzhama area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District on Monday blocked the highway leading to world famous Ski resort Gulmarg demanding restoration of water supply in the area.
Scores of residents gathered on the main road while protesting against the concerned Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) demanded an immediate restoration of water supply..

Shouting slogans against PHE, the residents of Mazhama held that despite several pleas to the higher ups, the area has been without water for the past several weeks.
“We have tried our best to get our demands heard, however the officials seem unmoved, so we are compelled to come out on the streets,” Hajira, a resident told The Kashmiriyat.
The blockade of the road caused traffic havoc in the area, however officials soon arrived and promised to meet their demands at the earliest.
