At Least 30 SPOs Resign from Police Jobs in Kashmir, Police Denies

There is panic after the killing of the three SPOs of the police in the Shopian district of south Kashmir. Nearly SPOs have announced their resignation after the incident. However, the police is refusing these resignations. Videos related to the resignation of SPO are becoming viral over social Media.

Some SPOs has announced the resignation by giving an affidavits and the same have been uploaded on social media while many have announced the resignation on Friday prayers.

Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that 33 SPOs resigned after declaration in the mosque and on social media, however none has officially submitted his resignation.

The police personnel who give the resignations are from South Kashmir districts of Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama. In a local mosque of Reshipora Awantipora, 7 policemen announced their resignation, the same were deputed in the Railway Police, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

On the other hand, 9 SPOs in the local mosques of Hajipur, Habadipur, Jamnagar, Keller, Hunhama, Nagambal and Raban villages of Shopian district announced their resignation.

Two from Qazigund and a SPO from Noorbagh Kulgam also announced the resignation.

Some SPOs also announced their resignations from Wokay, Balhama, Devsar, Kulgam, Vahibug Pulwama.

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs said the news of resignation was a bad news.

The Central Government has denied the news of the SPO resignations in Jammu Kashmir.

According to the Center, this kind of report is based on the propaganda of some mischievous elements and called the videos as ‘Propaganda videos.’

A Police official posted in South Kashmir while speaking to The Kashmiriyat denied the reports and said no police personnel has resigned. (The Kashmiriyat)
