Three Militants have been killed in the exchange of gunfire between militants and Government forces at Kangan area Kashmir's Pulwama District. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat  that a team of 55 RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police was fired upon by Militants in the Kangan area, during a cordon and Search operation, after which the Army retaliated to the firing. Gunfight Starts Between Militants and Forces in Pulwama Kashmir

An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at wanpora in Kangan area of Pulwama district on Wednesday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 55 RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area in wee hours of Wednesday. An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. Locals said that massive gunshots are being heard in the area, slow mobile internet services have also been barred in the district.
