13-year-old girl found hanging in Pulwama

A teenage girl was found hanging at her residence in Lajoora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 13-year-old girl was found hanging inside her home in Lajoora today. He said that her body was later taken to CHC Lajoora by locals. The State Investigative Agency (SIA) of Jammu Kashmir Police raided the Achen area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Official Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday the SIA raided several locations in Achen in Pulwama in connection with the killing of Sanjay Kumar Sharma. Sanjay was killed by suspected militants on February 02 outside his home in Achen Pulwama. Details rushing in.

Sheikh Nadeem A shopping complex was damaged in a nocturnal blaze in the Wandevalgam area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, flames emerged from a shop inside a shopping complex which later spread to the nearby shops. As soon as the flames erupted, the locals and F&ES Department reached the spot to douse off the flames, however, six shops were damaged before the fire could be brought under control. The shopping complex belonged to Ghulam Hassan Sheikh son of Abdul Gaffar Sheikh, a resident of Kokernag in Anantnag district.

Man shot at by suspected militants in Kulgam

One person has been shot at by unknown gunmen in the Hassanpora area of Arwani in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that suspected militants on Friday evening fired upon a man identified as Asif Ali Ganie son of Ali Mohammed Ganie in the Hassanpora area, causing injuries to him. Asif Ali Ganie, a resident of Hassanpoa Tavela has been shifted to the Sub District hospital Bijbehara, they said. Meanwhile, the Government forces have reached the spot and laid a cordon around the area to nab the attackers. Two civilians, firefighter injured while dousing fire in south Kashmir

At least two civilians and a firefighter were injured while dousing off a blaze, triggered by a gas cylinder blast, ithe n Wanihama area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Reports said that a gas cylinder exploded resulting in fire in the house of Mohammad Ishaq Parry, son of Ghulam Mohiduin Parray at Watrigam Wanihama. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to contain the spread of fire and in the course of action two civilians identified as Tawseef Ahmad and Waseem Ahmad Itoo and a firefighter received injuries . The injured trio was taken to a nearby hospital, where all of them are said to be stable. An F&ES official confirming the injury of the fireman, identified him as Manzoor Ahmad, working as MD in the department.

On specific inputs regarding the movement of scheduled drugs, multiple raids were today conducted at several places in Kulgam district by a team of Drug officials under the supervision of Dy. Drugs Controller Kashmir. During the raids, scheduled drugs worth Rs.31,740 liable to be misused were seized on the spot and court proceedings were also initiated in the matter.
