Farooq Abdullah Asks Media to ‘Get Out’ from his Function

The national Conference president, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday during a party function in Dak Bungalow in Islamabad (Anantnag) asked media men to get out from the event.

Dr. Farooq who was on visit to this South Kashmir district told the media men, “I have to discuss personal things with my party workers.” before asking the media to leave the event.

The behavior has angered the media fraternity of Islamabad (Anantnag) district who had been invited to the event by the local leaders of the National Conference.

 

The Kashmiriyat member Salman Shah, who had been invited to the event said that the behavior was uncalled for and without any reason he asked us to leave the event. “Such insult of media shall not be tolerated,” he said.

Senior Journalist, Ishtiyaq Sofi, Gulzar Ganie and Tasaduq Rashid reacting to the incident said that the party should take notice of this insult, otherwise media may be compelled to boycott the events of the party. ‘We did not come here on our own, but were invited by the party’s local leadership,”he added.

The party members later apologized to the media and invited the media men back into the function.
