Five Militant Bodies Recovered From Qazigund Gunfight Site- Officials

Five Militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight at Matipora Czogam area of Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam early morning on Saturday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 9RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a CASO in the area late night on Friday.

During the CASO the holed up Militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight after which reinforcements were rushed to the spot.

The Militants were holed up inside the residential house of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie near to Government Primary school in Czogam area of South Kashmir.

In the ensuing gunfight, five Militants have been killed while Two Army men have  been injured, an told The Kashmiriyat.

However their identity have not be confirmed as of yet.

The house in which Militants were holed up has been razed to the ground, they said a search operation is being conducted and five Militants are believed to have been killed in the gunfight site.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Movement of a Hizb Militant group was traced in the area after which a massive gunfight ensued.

They said that a top commander of Hizb ul Mujahideen, Gulzar Ahmed Padder, Takiya Aedjan of Kulgam has also been killed in the gunfight.

Locals identified, Zahid Ahmed of Wokay Kulgam, Muzaffar Hussain of Sopat Kulgam while one more Militant is believed to be from a neighborhood district.

Meanwhile authorities have suspended Mobile internet services in Kulgam and Islamabad (Anantnag) as a precautionary measure.

Train services to South Kashmir have also been shut.
