An encounter has raged between militants and Government forces erupted at Gund Mohallah, Brath Kalan in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of 22 RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Gund Mohalla area on Wednesday evening after receiving inputs about presence of some militants in the area.

The Forces while conducting the search operation were fire upon by forces, which resulted in an encounter.
As per Initial inputs received by The Kashmiriyat, two to three Militants are believed to be holed up in a residential house in the area.
The Police however said that the Militants have not opened fire as of yet.
