Necessary Measures to Avoid Braid Chopping

Braid Chopping is not the first incident in Kashmir to have happened. During the early 90s we witnessed the Ghost era (Nam Balaay) who later turned out to be a few outsiders running to all the places and scaring people and stealing precious things from Kashmir houses. During those days however, Kashmiris played their brains well and formulated a strategy without the help of any local official to get the ghost thieves exposed and make them flee for once and all.

In those days the theories flew like now that the Ghosts are for real and it is some creature from some other world, but one thing was sure that it was a golden time for the burglars who cashed in every possible opportunity by robbing the houses when people were out chasing the ghosts, thereby adding more to the sufferings of the already broken people.

Several times in the early 90s claims were made by the people from many areas that while chasing a ghost, the ghost either disappeared near a security camp or entered into a camp and when people assembled outside the camp, the forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the crowd. A few people even claimed to have caught a ghost and on unmasking it turned out to be a person associated with some Security Agency.

Dozens of cases of Braid chopping have been reported from Jammu Kashmir and in Kashmir; Southern Kashmir has been the worst victim. More than two dozen cases of mysterious hair cutting were reported from Kulgam District Alone.

What necessary precautions can one take to Stop Braid Choppers?

1: Make sure the windows and doors of your house are locked before you sleep, leave no space for anyone to enter inside.

2: Try not to sleep alone, be in the company of male members of your family.

3: Keep an alarm near you/ under your pillow which gives out a loud sound, most preferable will be a steel plate and a spoon.

4: Raise the alarm (hit the spoon hard at the plate constantly) if you witness any stranger appearing closer to you, rather than shouting.

5: Keep a Spray near you if you happen to see anyone coming nearer; use the spray on his/her eyes.

6: Do not to fall victim to rumours, insisting that it is a Ghost or some alien creature.

7: Keep Vigil around your places and keep certain coded signals for catching the braid choppers, however catching them is less important that you own safety.

8: You should not get out of the house even alone, if the washroom is outside the house, take someone along with you to keep a vigil.

Ground Report: Private Schools Bloom, Government Schools might soon have to shut Operations

Wednesday, 27 September 2017 09:29 Written by

September 26

Education is the fundamental tool in the development of society, although, Government is bound to provide this service to decorate the future of its citizens. Govt in Jammu Kashmir claims to develop the education system by providing better accommodation & teaching staff but the ground reality is different.

Particularly the schools of Achabal & Shangas zone have insufficient teaching staff, which is a great challenge to our society. Each zone has almost 30 vacancies of head-teachers & other teaching staff & facing a great problem in teaching the students. This is one of the main reasons of encouraging the privatization in the valley, which is not affordable to the poor society.

Administration is responsible for the decline of schooling in govt. institutes, where only poor & tribal students study. Negligence of govt. will soon result in the closure of govt. institutes & flourish of private schools in the valley.

The team of The Kashmiriyat collected the official reports and found that each zone has almost 30 vacancies of head-teachers.

The locals also condemned the negligence in this regard. They demanded the immediate engagement of sufficient teaching staff & also declared that the kids of teachers & other elite groups are studying in private schools & that is why govt. schools are being ignored.

Prophet Mohammed was invited to Medina by a delegation representing the twelve most important clans.

He accepted and, along with most of his followers, made the 320km trek.

The situation in Medina, at this time, was one of confusion and blood feuds. What was needed was a neutral outsider to judge the various altercations. Mohammed accepted the invitation and became chief arbitrator to the entire community.
