Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (Anantnag) visits Educational & Health Institutions

The Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad (Anantnag) Khalid Jahangir, today made an extensive visit to Block Shangus & Chittergul to take stock of the basic amenities regarding power supply, drinking water, healthcare facilities & sanitation.

He also made visit of High School Nowgam and interacted with students. He directed the Headmaster and other teaching staff to focus on quality education.

During the inspection of M&RE works at Pingwan, Shangus, Charpora & Panchalthan, he directed Xen, PDD to ensure quality material and to provide power supply to un-electrified families.

The DC also visited CHC Shangus & Chittergul inspected various sections of the institutions and took stock of the medicare facilities being provided to the patients. On the occasion various deputations met DC and demanded for posting of Surgeons and to fill the vacant posts of the doctors.

The DC also visited regional water supply scheme having 10 lac gallon capacity being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.32 crore for which the pipes have been already laid for 05km. An expenditure of Rs.5 core has been spent on the scheme till date. The DC directed the PHE Engineers to ensure its completion within the end of September 2019 so that the dense populated Shangus village is provided portable drinking water.

On the occasion he directed Tehsildar Shangus to identify 20 kanals of land for sewerage treatment plant. He also directed BDO Shangus to install dustbins on the roadside and in interior Shangus village and to ensure sanitation of the village. He also directed BDO to develop the Kachari land near water supply scheme for a playground for which Tehsildar Shangus will make the necessary demarcation.

The CMO Anantnag, CEO, Xens of PMGSYM, PDD, AEE, R&B &  officers from other departments were present during the visit.
