Kulgam Police Arrested Seven Gamblers, Stake Money OF ₹7000 Recovered

Continuing its drive against social crimes, kulgam police acting swiftly upon a specific information generated from reliable sources regarding Gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam. A police party headed by SHO Kulgam – Imtiyaz Malik along with DSP Kulgam – Shri Shafat Saahab raided a suspected gambling site at Chawalgam and apprehended following gamblers whose identity has been ascertained as –

Dawood Ahmad Malik, Sartaj Ahmad Magray ,Gowher Hussian Parray, Mubarak Ahmad Rather, Ishfaq Ahmad Rather, Firdous Ahmad Lone and Shameem Ahmad Mir .

From the spot stake money of Rs. 7000 and a set of playing cards were recovered.

Taking cognizance into the matter all the gamblers were booked and regarding the incident case FIR No. 158/2020 U/S 13 of Gambling Act stands registered in Police station Kulgam. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

People of the area have appreciated the role of police for being prompt against such social evils. The citizens have been requested to cooperate with the police in curbing the social crimes in the district and they have been assured that such drives will continue in future also.
