22 Year Old Muslim Boy- Sole Breadwinner of the Family, Lynched to Death in U.P

Samir Chaudhary, 22, a resident of Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, was lynched to death by Hindu goons/attackers on Thursday evening, while he was returning home from the work.

As per the registered FIR, the incident took place on 09/09/2021 at around 6:00 pm. Samir like every day was returning home from work. As soon as Sameer alighted from the bus at the stand, Vatan Raj s/o Sopal, Vardan s/o, Pradeep alias Mintu, Akshay s/o Kullu, Raj s/o Rajesh, Ashish s/o Harish Chand, Lucky s/o Gabbar, Chintu alias Ayush Rana s/o Nidersh Rana, Bhonda s/o Bharat who were already present at the bus stand started thrashing him. They altogether attacked Samir with sticks and iron rods and killed him brutally.

Parvez, cousin of the deceased while speaking to Maktoob Media claimed that the assailants lynched him because of his “Muslim identity.”

The enmity between the men is being cited as the motive behind the murder.

Chaudhary was the sole breadwinner in his family after his father died due to cancer four years ago leaving behind a family of two brothers, a sister, and a mother.

According to his cousin, the Hindu groups attacked two other young boys who were with Chaudhary but they managed to escape.

FIR has been filed by Samir’s uncle Adil s/o Mazrahassan at Uttar Pradesh police against the accused under IPC 302,147 and 148.

According to the family, one of the assaulters has been arrested so far.

“The accused fled from the spot mistaking Sameer was dead. The person present on the spot took Sameer to the police station and from there went to CHC Shamli, where he was referred to Muzaffar by the doctor but he died on the way,” reads the FIR.

In a video, Samir’s sister Iram said, “He never fought with anyone, we are orphans without a father, he was the only bread earner of the family, ‘what was his fault?’”
